Happy Friday, friends! To spring you into the weekend, we’re giving you the chance to win an anime figure for one of our favorite series here at Beneath the Tangles, Toradora!
One of the most incredible things about being an anime fan in 2025 is the massive amount of anime figures available to collectors. And figure companies aren’t just focusing on new series—they’re developing models for older anime, too! A decade ago, that would have been unthinkable, but now? We've got new Toradora figures! More specifically, we’re giving away one Pop-Up Parade figure of everyone's favorite tsundere, Taiga Aisaka!

Here's a little BtT trivia: my love for that series sparked a dormant love for anime within me, and it eventually led to me blogging about anime, which led to Beneath the Tangles.
Thank you, Taiga!
But onto YOU. How can you win this figure? It's pretty easy! Like and share this very post. And then double your chances of winning by replying with your answer to this question:
What "old school" anime would you recommend?
You can do the same on our pinned posts on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Facebook, and Substack when they go up this morning.
Here are the rest of the rules:
You must be following us to enter
We'll accept entries up to 11:59 p.m. ET on June 13th
International entries are welcome
No spam/contest-only accounts
BtT staff may not enter
Good luck, friends!

No one wants to be “pruned” (John 15) by the Father, but it’s for our good and exactly what we often need. Claire discusses pruning and cleansing this week as she examines Meg’s unfeeling approach in episode six of Once Upon a Witch’s Death.
Laura and Claire team up this week for a joint review of volume one of the Kpop-themed series, Girl Crush! Spoiler: They loved it!
In this week’s Reader’s Corner, Laura and Twwk review several of our favorite recent series, but some more atypical fare, too, including the newest art book from Studio Ghibli, one from the mangaka behind Delicious in Dungeon, and the latest Spy x Family guidebook!
Finally, our Fanart Friday posts from a week ago feature a Miku looking very cool in a unique style and Bocchi dealing with all the noise that comes with being rock!
I watched Toradora fairly recently after my brother mentioned liking it, and it really is such a fun show! My favorite 'old school' show, though, would have to be the original Trigun. Totally different genre and . . . well, everything, but so good in its own right!
